Weddings at St. John’s

Marriage

At St. John’s Lutheran Church, we believe that marriage is a lifelong Christian covenant solemnized in the presence of God and lived out within the faith community. As the “mother church” of Lutheranism in South Carolina, we are filled with joy when a couple seeks to begin their married life inside our historic sanctuary.

Because our church calendar and staff resources are limited, weddings for couples who are not members of our congregation are hosted at the discretion of our Senior Pastor. In these cases, at least one of the persons to be married must be an active member of a Lutheran church.
