Christian Education

The Christian education program at St. John’s focuses upon helping our parishioners understand the Bible, its meaning, and bringing that knowledge into focus in a contemporary context. St. Johns’ offer a variety of Sunday school classes for all ages. We have classes for children as young as 3 years to as old as 99 years. All are welcome to come and join us on Sunday morning!

Children from 3 years to late elementary are currently using the program called Growing in Christ by Concordia Publishing. We have a class for 3 to 5 years of age, for Kindergarten through 3rd grades,  4th through 6th grades, and Youth (7th-12th grades). The youth class is working through a book that relates everyday life to the Bible. Of course, classes don’t stop there. St. John’s also has a mixed adult class and adult Bible study class.

St. John’s also offers activities for our young members. Twice a month, Little Luther Leaguers meet at the church to enjoy crafts and activities, and lunch. Little Luther Leaguers age range from Kindergarten through 6th grades. The Little Luther Leaguers also gather outside of the church for some good wholesome fun, such as beach gatherings, pool parties and even an excursion to Riverbanks Zoo.

The Youth Group (7th-12th grades) also meet monthly. They gather after the late service for food, fellowship, and activities. These activities include both fun and service oriented events.

All children – regardless of age – are welcome to come and enjoy the Christmas pageant and Christmas party, and Easter Party with an Easter egg hunt.

This summer, we will be having Vacation Bible School the week of July 26-29. Join us as we explore the Proverbs with the program called Camp Kilimanjaro!
